The Process
- Candidate must have filed to appoint a campaign treasurer before filing for
office or spending any money for their campaign.
- Deliver completed, notarized application and filing fee or petition to Republican Headquarters during state required filing period.
The Application
- Filing begins Monday, November 28, 2011 and ends Monday, December 19, 2011. State Law requires that the application must be received at Montgomery County Republican Party Headquarters no later than December 19, 2011, at 6 p.m. A December 19, 2011, postmark does not satisfy the state law.
- HOWEVER, FILING WILL REOPEN AFTER THE COURTS DECIDE THE MAPS AND WILL CLOSE ON FEBRUARY 1, 2012 AT 6 P.M.
- How to file:
- Download the application and fill it out
- Have it notarized (You must turn it in already notarized. We cannot notarize it for you.)
- Pay your filing fee when you turn in your application. Click here for fee amount. Or in lieu of a filing fee, you may collect signatures on a nominating petition. Contact Matt Murray at 936-788-8354 at Elections Central in Conroe to find out how many signatures will be required for the office you are filing for.
- Deliver notarized application and filing fee or petition to Republican Headquarters, either by mail or in person no later than 6 p.m. on December 19, 2011.
However, filing will reopen after the courts decided the maps and will close on February 1, 2012.
