2016 REPUBLICAN PARTY CONVENTION INFORMATION
The Precinct Conventions will convene at 8 pm on March 1, 2016 after the polls close at the Precinct Voting location. Delegates & Alternate Delegates will be chosen to serve at their respective Senatorial District Convention on Saturday, March 19, 2016. The number of Delegates and Alternate Delegates will allocated based on the total vote for the Republican candidate for Governor in 2014 in each Precinct.
SENATORIAL DISTRICT CONVENTIONS
Senatorial District #3 Convention will be held at the Lone Star Community Center, 2500 Lone Star Parkway, Montgomery, TX 77356. Registration and Committee meetings will begin at 8:30 am. The Convention will convene at 9 am. A total of 48 Delegates and Alternate Delegates will be chosen to attend the State Republican Convention in Dallas on May 12-14. At the State Convention SD #3 will have a total voting strength of 442.
Senatorial District Convention #4 will be held at the Lone Star Community Center, 2500 Lone Star Parkway, Montgomery, TX 77356. Committee meetings will begin at 10 am and registration will begin at 1 pm. The Convention will convene at 2 pm. A total of 221 Delegates and Alternate Delegates will be chosen to attend the State Republican Convention in Dallas on May 12-14. At the State Convention SD #4 will have a total voting strength of 421.
At the State Convention the Congressional District #8 caucus will choose 3 Delegates and 3 Alternate Delegates to attend the National Republican Convention on July 18-21 in Cleveland, Ohio; and will vote for a National Committeeman and Committeewoman who will serve Texas on the Republican National Committee (RNC). Congressional District #8 will have a total voting strength of 385. The Senatorial District caucuses will vote on a State Chairman and State Vice-Chairman; and vote for a State Executive Committeeman and a State Executive Committeewoman for each of the 31 Senatorial Districts to serve on the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC)
